Whiteberg's Vids

Afghan Whigs: “When We Two Parted”. Funny thing is, that while most of the bands from that time are losing their appeal to me (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, anyone?), Afghan Whigs just seem stronger and stronger with every year.

Good memories. La Mala Rodriguez - “Tengo Un Trato”, analog, jazzy remix.

Boo Radleys - “Lazarus”. What a weird and unsatisfactory video for one of the greatest tracks of all time. “Lazarus” exists in a number of remixes and edits. This seems to be the single edit and far from the greatest, but you can still hear the awesomeness of shoegaze, horns and dub mixed with a great pop melody.

The Smiths: “How Soon Is Now”. Some kind of video for one of my favorite Smiths-songs.

Captain Beefheart - “Bat Chain Puller”. Great live version, but what does it even mean? RIP Beefheart.

Asher Roth - “I Love College”. Is this what the undergrads get up to while we’re not looking?

A classic. Tommy Seebach - Apache. Thanks to evajoanna for posting this. It is probably her favorite video in the world.

Charlie Rich - Feel Like Going Home. This song is actually pretty amazing. Gospel, country, soul pop ballad?

Charlie Rich - Lonely Weekends. Just read some of Peter Guralnick’s pieces on Rich, and wanted to check out his songs.

Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order) & Friends plays “Love Will Tear Us Apart Again”. US tour in December. New York date: Dec 3rd, Webster Hall.
